School Curriculums
(Listed
in Alphabetical Order)
There are many home school
curriculums available. Listed below are some we are familiar with. Notations
are not meant to imply superiority of one over another. Of course, we
all have a preference, which suits our lifestyles and beliefs. We hope
this list will assist you. If there are any which you have become accustomed
to, which we may not have included, please let us know. We will be happy
to add it to the list to assist others.
A
BEKA
abeka.com
Box 19100, Pensacola, FL 32523-9100
800.874.2352 FAX:1.800.874.3590
email:ABBinfo@abeka.com
A Beka is a Christian curriculum.
They include Gods teachings in all of their courses. This is a major comfort
for those who wish to include God in science and other areas. A Beka also
allows families to select various levels, and to pick and choose their curriculum
to their individual needs. For families which may not be "rod" oriented,
A Beka may need monitoring in certain contexts. Some texts have certain
emphasis on "obey" (not all). One story book noted, contained language stating
the usage of the "paddle" as discipline. A Beka is used throughout the country,
in Christian Schools, as a curriculum.
CALVERT
SCHOOL
calvertschool.org/
(Grades K-8)
105 Tuscany Rd., Baltimore,
Maryland 21210
410.243.6030 FAX: 410.366.0674
The Calvert School curriculum
is fully accredited by the Maryland State Department of Education. For
an additional fee, Calvert offers the "Advisory Teaching Service". The
Calvert curriculum is well regarded. The major drawback, at last notice,
was Calvert does not allow digression from grades (in other words, one
must select a grade, and all texts will be at that grade level. Which
may not be preferable for some families.)
CLONLARA
SCHOOL
clonlara.org
(K Through High School)
1289 Jewett, Ann Arbor, MI
48104
313.769.4515
Clonlara offers curriculum
assistance, and a text list. They assist families in meeting the NY State
requirements. (e.g.,, They works with you in filling out and submitting
many of the state required forms.) Note: We are sorry to report that,
since Dr. Pat Montgomer has retired, Clonlara no longer offers the mediator services
it once did.

believe it is Seventh Day Adventist.)
OAK

They include
a statement as follows: "We believe children learn best through doing.
For over 20 years we've been providing creative, flexible and challenging
home schooling materials for thousands of families around the world."
They offer more than one program, with or without "teacher assistance".
Drawback: you cannot "digress" from grade levels for specific subjects,
without "testing" or "special permission".
WORLD
BOOK
1.800.967.5325
http://www.worldbook.com
World Book offers
a package of information and resources, including a pamphlet that lists
what should be covered, for each "grade" level. Some homeschoolers

together. However, at the writing of this list, we are unsure. Contact:
